The History

The VerTech oxidation process is a unique technology for treatment of liquid waste. Organic waste parts are being oxidized in the aqueous stage resulting in an inert ash solely containing non-organic parts. VerTech developed this technique in the nineteen seventies and eighties in the U.S.A. and acquired all patents.

VerTech built a test reactor in Denver and a pilot reactor in Longmont, Colorado.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency praised the technology for its environmental friendliness.

A Dutch construction company, Van Wijnen, consequently acquired the ‘VerTech technology, including patents, assets and know-how. A prototype reactor was built in Apeldoorn the Netherlands, to process the sludge from the Veluwe Water Board.

Veluwse Afval Recycling (VAR) became the owner of the reactor in 1998, patents and technology. VAR continued to develop better reactor performance.
